Overview

Guide for accessing Twitch streams and retrieving chat messages via browser automation. Chat messages are accessible without login.

Access

Search for Streams

  1. Click the search input field labeled "Search Input"
  2. Type search query (e.g., "AI VTuber")
  3. Submit to navigate to search results
  4. Results show:
    • Live channels with viewer counts
    • Channel names with tags (e.g., "AI", "VTuber", "English", "Japanese")
    • Past videos section

View a Stream

  1. Click on a channel name or stream title from search results
  2. Stream page elements:
    • Video player (center)
    • Channel info below video (title, category, tags, follower count)
    • Chat panel (right side)

Stream Page Controls

  • button "Pause (space/k)" - Pause/play video
  • button "Mute (m)" - Toggle audio
  • button "Settings" - Video quality options
  • button "Theatre Mode (alt+t)" - Expand video
  • button "Fullscreen (f)" - Full screen mode
  • button "Collapse Chat" - Hide chat panel

Retrieve Chat Messages

Chat messages are in the "Stream Chat" region. Structure:

Message Format

Each message contains:

  • Username button (clickable)
  • Subscriber badges (if any): "X-Month Subscriber badge"
  • Message text
  • Emotes as images
  • Reply button

Troubleshooting

Chat not loading

  • Wait for page to fully load
  • Take a fresh snapshot after a few seconds
  • Check if stream is actually live

Notification dialogs

  • Close button may appear for promotions
  • Look for button "Close" or button "Show me" to dismiss
