Overview

How to get your Twitch stream key and start streaming with OBS or other broadcasting software.

Get Stream Key

  1. Go to Twitch Creator Dashboard
  2. Click Settings in the left navigation
  3. Click Stream
  4. Find Primary Stream key section
  5. Click Copy button to copy the stream key

Configure OBS

  1. Open OBS
  2. Go to Settings → Stream
  3. Set Service to Twitch
  4. Paste the stream key in Stream Key field
  5. Click OK to save

Start Streaming

  1. Set up your scenes and sources in OBS
  2. Click Start Streaming button
  3. Check Twitch Stream Manager to confirm you're live

Verify Stream Status

  1. Go to Stream Manager in Creator Dashboard
  2. Look for LIVE indicator
  3. Check Stream Health (should show "Excellent")
  4. Preview your stream in the Stream Preview panel

Notes

  • Stream key is sensitive - never share it publicly
  • If your key is compromised, use Reset button to generate a new one
  • Virtual Camera is for apps like Zoom, not for Twitch streaming
  • For VTuber streaming, configure your avatar software as a video source in OBS
